Stylish Blogger!



My friend Beth awarded me a Stylish Blogger Award!  Yea!  Somebody has actually been reading these posts. :)  She has a great blog, Discom-BOB-ulated Running, dedicated to running (which I should be doing much more of).  Any who...I am to list seven things that you may not know about me, so here goes...

1)  I dream of owning a home interiors store or an urban chic flower shop or a hip clothing boutique.  This may be known by some friends, but putting dreams into words and writing them down is the first step.  Now I need to figure out business plan, financing, and location, location, location!  Hence, why I'm still sitting behind a boring desk daily.

2)  I need to be running more!  End of story.  No more 'it's too hot and humid outside' stuff.

3)  I feel truly guilty if I sit on the couch after getting home from work before sundown.  I can't break this!  Drives my husband crazy.  He says, 'Let's just be lazy.'  I feel like I have to work out, skim the pool, play with the dog, do a load of laundry, vacuum the floors, THEN I can pour a glass of wine as the sun goes down and turn on the boob tube.  It's just my parents in me.

4)  I wish everyday I could be a direct part of my family's life.  This doesn't mean via phone call, this means picking nieces up after school, going to T-ball games, having dinner with grandparents, seeing a movie with Mom & Dad.  Maybe someday...

5)  I took a pocket knife from my dad's nightstand at 4-years-old to teach a neighbor kid a thing or two about teasing my older brother.  The lesson did not get too far as the knife was seized as soon as I walked out on the porch.  But those kids knew who NOT to mess with. :)

6)  I only got 3 swats growing up.  1) For attempting to hurt another kid with a knife (see story above).  2)  Intentionally driving my 3-wheeler in front of a monster truck driving down the street.  I was trying to beat it.  Fearless as a 4-year-old.  3)  Kicking my brother while he was laying down and I had softball cleats on.  He deserved it and that's all I'm saying.

7)  I think I've eaten 20 gallons of hummus this year.  Can't get enough of it!
