Pan Am Keep Bringing It

I just watched Sunday's episode of Pan Am last night - I can't keep up with all these fall shows in a timely manner!

I couldn't get over this look on Christina Ricci.  Probably not many can pull this off, but I think it's gorgeous.  First of all, I absolutely love pencil skirts.  Secondly, I enjoy black & white with a punch of color (Kate Spade anyone??).  I need some of those gloves immediately.

Another pencil skirt look - adorable.

Lovely red dress & red convertible.  I almost felt like these were engagement photos.

Va-va-voom in emerald.  Great cape too! (Although she kind of makes the cape look costume-y with that evil look on her face.)

Keep this show on just for the fashion alone please. :)

Missoni is here!! Missoni is here!!

Today's the day, ladies and gents!  I've been anticipating this shopping day event for about 2 months now.  So much that I actually showed up at Target last Tuesday expecting long lines just to get in the door, mayhem fighting over zigzag striped platters, mugs, shower curtains & pillows, shopping carts overflowing with 60s inspired houseware items and attire.  I really was envisioning the Supermarket Sweep final competition or an episode of Oprah's Favorite Things giveaway.  Better yet, the SNL version of Oprah's Favorite Things.  The greatest!

Instead, it was empty, typical, and there were no signs of Missoni products anywhere.  I thought, 'Is it only select Target stores??  What is going on here?'  I did a quick Google on my iPhone and discovered that with my past two weekend out of town I had mistakenly thought it was the first day after Labor Day that Missoni was available to us common folk.

Alas, the day is today!!

And the best for last...I just wish I wouldn't have bought outdoor chairs from Crate & Barrel now.  These would fit perfect under our patio gazebo.  I'm still going to try to find a way to fit in at least an ottoman. :)

See the full lookbook here.  There are 400 items so be choosy or go crazy and buy everything!

Fashionista Friday - Cinema to Runway - 60s style

My friends and I went to see The Help last night. Not only is it a movie that created a rollarcoaster of emotions (one friend in particular & I laughed and cried multiple times in all the same spots...maybe it as also the bottle of wine we split that assisted with this??), but the fashion was like eye candy. I'm not one to don the tight bodice, full skirt dress often, but I sure do like to look at other girls who do.  I'm more of a pencil skirt girl, which Jessica Chastain wore perfectly.

Oh, to be a costume designer!

The costumes brought back visions of Mad Men, which in turn created bad thoughts about the money-hungry producers who held up this show from taping on time this year. Making us wait another 6 months before we get to see what vixen Joan, evolving Peggy, and discontent Betty is going to wear this season is misery!

Too hold me over until 2012...

As seen on the Fall 2011 runways mod is back in a BIG way and I fully want to take part in this trend.
