Fashion Week Spring 2012 - Part 2 Recap

Come the end of the week, come the big hitters.

Let's take a look at some of my top picks:

Proenza Schouler

Great retro preppy from the young duo designers.

I'm digging the low-slung belts on these solid dresses.

This green is a favorite of mine - looks good on almost any skin tone.  I bet we see Renee Zellweger in the dress on the right since Ms. Herrera is her red carpet go-to.

Carolina Hererra

This is...Out of Africa and I love it!  I'm into safari-wear any day, especially if my husband were to surprise me with a trip.  Michael Kors uses just enough leather for toughness, but not so much that a normal person couldn't wear it.  The snakeskin used on the dress below is perfect to frame the face.

Marc by Marc Jacobs was definitely one of my favorite collections.  I'm a sucker for Americana looks and I want that swimming suit for next 4th of July already...and I never wear one pieces!  Hoping for another invite to the Hampton's to sport this one.

Carrie Bradshaw totally would have worn this.  So hot, so city.

Tommy Hilfiger

Not crazy about these looks.  A lot of pattern, the fit is awkward to wear, and just too much.

Vera Wang

I really enjoyed the artfulness of Rodarte's pieces.  He brought Van Gogh into several looks.  As a girl from Kansas, I would love to wear the yellow dress with sunflowers to a summer wedding.

 J. Lo's going to come knocking for the dress on the right.  You know she loves some shimmer and sass in her dresses.

Marchesa

Narciso Rodriguez
This was another favorite collection of mine.  I think the dress below is just perfect for a summer tan, sipping cocktails at a rooftop bar overlooking a fabulous city.

Oscar de la Renta's line was gorgeous.  I enjoyed every bit of it.  Even though I'm happy with my choice (and especially the price) I still wish I kind of would have splurged and bought the Oscar wedding dress I really wanted.  Oh, well.  Maybe we can renew our vows one day like all the celebs and I'll get one then. Ha!  That will be the day.
